Moot court competitions are more than just practice—they’re a training ground for the skills that appellate lawyers rely upon: clear legal reasoning, persuasive advocacy, and the ability to think on your feet. Having spent years in appellate litigation, we know firsthand how valuable it is for law school students to be able to develop and refine these skills. 

Durham, Pittard & Spalding was honored to sponsor the Baylor University School of Law Fall 2025 Moot Court Competition, an event that showcases some of the brightest up-and-coming legal talent. 

Congratulations to this year’s winners Jake Hatcher and Sam Hagen, who represented the respondent, and finalists Katie Stepek and Savanna Walker, who represented the petitioner.
