We’re excited to announce our new firm name — Durham, Pittard, Spalding, Kaufman & Hollingsworth.

The addition of Justin Kaufman in our Santa Fe office and Lara Hollingsworth in Houston as named partners reflects the significant impact these two lawyers have had on our team and our growth to 16 attorneys with offices in Dallas, Houston and Santa Fe. Their recognition also reflects the firm’s growth into a leading appellate firm working alongside trial lawyers in personal injury and commercial litigation.

We started this firm in 2003 with the belief that trial lawyers were often at a disadvantage without the assistance of an appellate attorney at the trial level because large law firms often relied on in-house appellate counsel assisting at trial, creating an imbalance that could make a significant difference not just at trial but also on appeal. To restore balance, we created a model in which our firm worked alongside trial lawyers as appellate counsel on the trial team. The rest is history.

Today, we’re honored to have assembled one of the largest appellate firms of its kind in the Southwest, serving as trusted partners to trial lawyers at every stage of the litigation lifecycle.
