Texas Super Lawyers Honors Four Durham, Pittard & Spalding Partners for Appellate and Litigation Excellence
Four Durham, Pittard & Spalding partners have earned repeat recognition in the 2026 edition of Texas Super Lawyers, with all four recognized for their appellate law expertise. Three also earned recognition in additional litigation categories.
The recognition spans the firm’s Dallas and Houston offices and reflects the depth of the firm’s appellate practice and its ability to assist trial lawyers with sophisticated litigation strategy and appeals.
The 2026 Texas Super Lawyers honorees are:
Dallas
Kirk Pittard — Appellate, Personal Injury, Business Litigation
Thad Spalding — Appellate, Business Litigation, Civil Litigation
Rick Thompson — Appellate
Houston
Lara Hollingsworth — Appellate, Civil Litigation: Plaintiff, Personal Injury – General: Plaintiff, Business Litigation
Earlier this year, attorneys Justin Kaufman and Caren Friedman, earned separate recognition in the New Mexico Super Lawyers.
Texas Super Lawyers is among the legal profession’s most established guides. Its selection process begins with confidential peer nominations from lawyers who have personally observed a colleague’s work and includes independent research and review by a panel of veteran attorneys. The process is designed to identify no more than five percent of practicing lawyers in the state.
For Durham, Pittard & Spalding, the recognition is particularly significant because of the firm’s role as appellate counsel for lawyers and law firms handling complex cases.
The 2026 Texas Super Lawyers list will be published in the October edition of Texas Monthly.
