Durham, Pittard & Spalding Supports Next Generation of Appellate Advocates at Baylor Law

Durham, Pittard & Spalding was proud to continue its support of Baylor University School of Law’s Fall 2026 Moot Court Competition, an opportunity for law students to develop the skills they will need to advocate for clients in the courtroom.

DP&S supports Baylor Law Moot Court Competition

Moot court provides a valuable introduction to appellate advocacy. Students research complex legal issues, develop and defend written arguments, and, importantly, learn what it is like to stand before a panel of appellate judges and make their case. The experiences help prepare the next generation of litigators and appellate practitioners for the demands of real-world advocacy.

Durham, Pittard & Spalding attorney Shelby White again served as a judge for the competition. Volunteer judges like Shelby, who share their enthusiasm and knowledge of the law, play a critically important role in these events, and their impact will be felt throughout these students’ careers.

The firm congratulates this year’s winners, Quinn Murphy and Sydney Skinner, who represented the respondent, and finalists Beau Cervantes and Corbitt Armstrong, who represented the petitioner.
